Move The Fight Forward - Men's Conference
Move The Fight Forward
Move The FightForward is an amazing event that we host each spring. We realize, as each of us live the purpose the God has called us to, we sometimes “get stuck”. The battle is to chose the Highway instead of the easy-way. Move The Fight Forward this year was a Friday evening and half-day Saturday event where men from different places in their journey with Jesus came together to discover new weapons to win the fight they are fighting, deepen friendships with men who are committed to fighting along side of them and winning, and receive a transfer of faith that strengthens all of us.
This year, Move The Fight Forward focused on a few specific actions that we believe God is directing us toward.
- Build on the Legacy That Has Been Started
- Be Intentional about Connecting Men Across Multiple Generations
- We as Kings and Priests
Here’s four things you should know. After the games, amazing man-food and awesome music and worship, (click here for a copy of the “weekend strategy”) we as a team of men strategically tackled the following.
Combatting Identity Theft: We are all targets of identity theft, especially our spiritual identities. Jesus was targeted big time. So are we. Greatness and powerful authority are the components of our lives when we understand our identity and walk in it. We address head-on the idea of what we as men are called to. A Modern Day Hero, Masaki Matsumoto walked a life of that didn’t seem to be headed to greatness, but ultimately has resulted in touching thousands of young men and women, shaping their confidence; an ESPN feature story and named High School Football Coach of the Year by the LA Times. Guilt to Confidence: Pastor Danny hit us with the truth about who we are as Kings and Priests; business leaders and men or authority, and men who carry a Kingdom power from God to change our lives and the lives of others. The forth “Big Thing” was a series of small team discussions were we together boldly asked the question, “who do we play the ‘SHORT GAME’, meaning live the way we need to win the challenges of today and the ‘LONG GAME’ meaning making a difference for the Kingdom and in the lives of others. We broke up into smaller groups and pounded these issues until together we came up with our Top 10 list of things we can do to win at bringing the Kingdom “here on earth as it is in heaven”, and be ready for the reward to come.
